A homeless man in Brisbane told me that he was harassed by police this morning at 7am on Thursday 9th June as he was walking down the steps of King George Square after leaving the train station. They were waiting for him and in their usual thug like manner proceeded to stand over and assault him physically. They questioned him about where he lived to which he replied that he was homeless as of yesterday having left Pindari hostel.

The police then said in a threatening manner that they would be keeping an eye on him and that they (the queensland police) were going to be hammering the homeless from now on. The brave homeless man then told the police "Whatever". They let slip that he matched a description of the cop killer from the gold coast who was previously thought to have been arrested but is now believed to have slipped through the police net. They also said something about DNA evidence not matching up.

The tall homeless man wearing shorts and a tracksuit top similar to the photo of a man wanted by police as a witness to the gold coast murder requested his identity remain anonymous for fear of retribution by the queensland police. "I want nothing to do with it." he replied to a request that he be quoted and his name used.

A well founded fear as queensland police probably will start violently beating up the homeless in response to the death of gold coast pig Damian Leeding. Its possible the homeless man was misled by police or was confused as to their actual meaning and they only considered him a possible witness but the man has always been a reliable source of information in the past.

An elderly homeless aquaintance of mine named Bruce was beaten up in Queen Street toilets back in 2005 by police. He is still fighting them in court. Despite video footage of the attack clearly showing the beating.

The only pig here is yourself.

How about you join the force son, that way you can spread your hatred of those who face murderers and violent thugs every day, (so that people like you and your mum, can walk around in safety) to their face.

I planned to join the victorian police when I was 18.

Then some australians I met at a backpackers invited me along for a drive and neglected to mention the car was stolen.

The police caught all of us when they stopped at a carpark in Flemington. I was bashed and tortured all night. All of my respect for the pigs was beaten out of me that night over 20 years ago.

I still have a clean record but nothing could persuade me to join that criminal organisation. Every cop in the station knew I was being assaulted. They all turned a blind eye.

Now I collect news about the dirty filthy cowardly australian police.

Thank you for your feedback cop lover.

They did an experiment in germany with a group of people who were divided into prisoners and wardens...... after a time they had to stop it because the "wardens" totally abused their power and it got really bad. Police are only human and have too much power over everyone else so its not surprising they go crazy sometimes. There is a lot of press %#@#ut police brutality and most people think the palm island death in custody was highly suss but nobody ever wins against the police so I suggest you quit blaming them for ruining your life and move on. The guy who killed that %#@# on palm island has a nice cushy job on the gold coast now.

I think they should bring out the "Death Penalty" for Cop Killers !!

Nobody really knows what they have to deal with, and then get blasted by a "shotgun", like with the most reasoned case...

A jung man that still had his whole entire life ahead of him - was suddenly taken, and another Copper (2 months ago) that intervened, when a South African family was brutally gunned down:  by a "Psycho" with a Shotgun in there Adelaide home !!!

What about the "rights" of coppers ??

Sorry you never made it into the force, you would have seen what it really is, not how those with chips on their shoulder represent it.

Back in the 60's, myself and some friends were acting like smarties one night at the community dance hall. The local copper, Bumper Farrell, came inside and told a few of us that some of our mates wanted to see us outside for something.

We swaggered out, only to receive a good kick up the backside and a stern warning about our 'behaviour'.

We hated the b'stard for quite a while, not because of the pain, but because of the humiliation as the word got around.

There was no comeback, you just took it because you knew you deserved it, after a while that is.

Your story sounds a bit over the top, and I'm afraid I do not believe you are telling the truth about it all.

If you are, I'm sorry about that.

One of my sons is in the force here in the NT, and two of my brothers kids are in the force in QLD, on the Gold Coast.

Your description of the police does not fit these people at all.

Of course there are bad cops, otherwise they couldn't play 'good cop, bad cop' with the crooks.

By the way, you said you met some Australians at a backpackers, where do you come from?

Bring a bad attitude with you? Not Lebanese are you? I once had a brother in law who was a detective sargeant in the NSW Police force, he told me that the Lebanese were the worst ethnic group to encounter regarding criminal activity.

No, they are not. However the chip on your shoulder must be a real handicap for you when you are amongst 'normal' people.

According to his last link he's a pom Dalone. I have the deepest respect for honest police in australia as they have a very tough job. Sadly they are overworked and many have developed an us and them mentality towards the public. I used to share a house with a police prosecutor in bribane and when he used to get a little drunk he would tell me a few things.
People go into police cells happy and unharmed but do mysteriously arrive at the courthouse covered in bruises and filled with hatred. He saw this happen too many times and eventually quit. A lot of good cops leave the force because of seeing prisoners brutalised. Until police officers realise they can speak out the problem will never go away.

Thanks Jake. Better than anyone else you have squarely shown the source of the problem. Aussies, for all their considerable qualities, and they are very considerable, are still a bit backward. You don't speak out on police corruption because you think it's normal and the police have a right to assault people.

That's why very few of you complain. The bulk of complaints come from incredulous foreigners such as myself. I was biorn here but raised in england so I'll always be a pom and never understand how australians put up with having a corrupt police force.

Its not just the police either.

Victorian police watchdog shelved racist complaints.

http://www.theaustralian.com.au/news/nation/victorian-police-watchdog-shelved-racist-complaints/story-e6frg6nf-1225842081749

MORE than 20 complaints of racism by Victorian police, including allegations of criminal behaviour, were made to the Office of Police Integrity by lawyers acting for young African Australians between 2006 and 2009.

Only one has been investigated by the OPI and several resulted in charges being laid by police against those who made the complaints in what lawyers describe as "cover charges".

No police officers have been sacked for race-related incidents, despite Chief Commissioner Simon Overland admitting he was aware of several "substantiated cases".

"Your story sounds a bit over the top, and I'm afraid I do not believe you are telling the truth about it all."

Lying is against my nature. Liars have to keep creating new lies to cover their lies and eventually it all gets a little difficult to keep track off. Ofcourse the police are exceptional liars because they practice all the time in court. I detest liars. When I eventually got my chance to speak out in court about my experience I was completely relaxed because I told nothing but the truth.

My story is rather tame compared to those I've heard from other people. It was the sense of powerlessness
that really bothered me. Even more than being kicked unconscious in a cell.

Its not unusual for police to become even more brutal towards the public after a cop slaying.

Fears of rise in police brutality

http://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/a/-/breaking/7038767/fears-of-rise-in-police-brutality/

A former policeman has warned of growing heavy handedness by WA police, as new figures show police brutality complaints have risen since the high-profile assault on Const. Matthew Butcher two years ago.

I fully realise I've dehumanised the australian police in my own mind. In fact I regard the police in the same sort of way that most australians regard middle eastern terrorists. As something that needs to be destroyed. I can still see their sneering laughing faces all these years later. Bullying is never ok.

Police Commissioner told to get tough on 'closed, self protecting culture'

http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/queensland/police-commissioner-told-to-get-tough-on-closed-selfprotecting-culture-20100617-yhfm.html

I think Australia has always been a corrupt nation. That movie 'Dirty Deeds' was based on a true story. The Yanks were right. This whole country is bent.

There is no separation of powers here.

Back when I used to work for United Protection Services in Brisbane I had to do a traffic controller course as that was what they specialised in. The instructor was an ex-police officer who told us an interesting story about why he quit the force.

He and some fellow officers arrested some young people who were clearly in breach of the law. The only problem was that their superiors gave them an ultimatum. Drop the case or quit the force. Turns out one of the kids was the progeny of a politician.

He quit.
